In Crisis?

“You have the power to heal your life, and you need to know that. We think so often that we are helpless, but we're not. We always have the power of our minds…Claim and consciously use your power." – Louise Hay

Find the resources you need to heal your lifeIf you are currently in crisis or great pain over a divorce, a death of a loved one, a financial setback or other concern in your life, you are not alone. There are people and resources available to you that will comfort you, help you heal, and assist you in finding the deeper meaning of your experience.

You may wish to access the following:
  • PRAYER - When in crisis, it is important to access immediate and positive supportive spiritual support. The most important is prayer.
    • Call Silent Unity at 1-800-NOW-PRAY (1-800-669-7729); International: 01-816-969-2000. It is so powerful to have another person pray with you and know with you the presence of Divine Love, which has the power to help you meet and transform the crisis before you. Silent Unity workers are on the phone line 24/7 365 days a year. Call as often as you need to. There is no charge. You can also submit a request online.
    • Allow the Unity of Walnut Creek heart ministers to pray with you by submitting a prayer request. You can remain anonymous or provide your name.
  • COMMUNITY - Connecting with positive, supportive people who believe in the power that can bring relief and healing in whatever form you need is important in meeting a challenge successfully.
    • At Unity of Walnut Creek, we seek to be such a community. You are invited to connect with us in person or by phone to see if this community offers the support you need.
    • Many churches and other spiritual organizations seek to be spiritually supportive. There may be one in your area that you feel good about. Returning to a type of church you had positive experiences with in the past can be helpful.
  • EXPAND YOUR OPTIONS - Open to expanded knowledge and guidance. Often in crisis you can feel trapped and powerless because you do not see an alternative or positive solution as possible. As your awareness expands, you open to let Spirit work freely in your life. A few suggestions:
    • Medical crisis
      • The following site is a good way to begin to access information and alternatives that affect many conditions:
      • It can be helpful to return to your physician to make sure you understand the knowledge that the medical community has and the options that exist. Ask as many questions as you need until you understand.
    • Loss of a loved one
      • While prayer and seeking support from friends and family are the first steps, attending a grief group can be very helpful. Support groups are offered by local hospices, medical centers and other organizations.
  • REACH OUT TO COMMUNITY AND GOVERNMENT RESOURCES - Some are provided in the resource list; others can be found at
