November Holiday Happenings

To all who gave: thank you for your wonderful generosity!

This holiday season, Unity is reaching out to help those less fortunate through Adopt-a-Family. Come to the patio every Sunday in November to choose a 3x5 card listing a gift to purchase for someone in a family selected by Unity. Bring unwrapped gifts back to Unity by Nov. 28. Cash donations are also accepted and will be used to buy Safeway gift cards. Your gifts to the families will be delivered through Brighter Beginnings, an East Bay family support organization. Thank you!
Teddy Bear Drive
Teddy BearSundays, November 18 & 25 and December 2
Bring your new bears to the service any of these Sundays so they can receive our love before they are given to children at the Walnut Creek Surgical Center this Christmas. Our bookstore is selling cute, cuddly, and unique teddy bears. The sizes range from tiny bears for infants to larger bears for children.
Gratitude Service
Wednesday, November 21 • 7:00 pm in the Sanctuary
Do you want to feel and express your gratitude in a meaningful way at Thanksgiving? Come together with your Unity family to raise your happy vibration with a whole service dedicated to gratitude. Express your gratitude, sing your gratitude, and pray your gratitude. Leave uplifted and in the full spirit of the Thanksgiving holiday. This event is gratefully supported by our fabulous music and prayer chaplain teams.
Thanksgiving Dinner
Thursday, November 22 • 12:00 Noon in the CommUnity Room
You’re invited to Unity’s annual Thanksgiving potluck. All are welcome to give thanks, enjoy a delicious meal and share in conversation. This is a great opportunity to invite friends or relatives to a fun time with your Unity family! Often congregants bring a carved turkey on their way to family meals. Please sign up on the patio (or in the bookstore during the week) to bring a turkey, side dish or dessert to share if you are able.
Remembrance Service
Thursday, November 29 • 7:00 pm in the Sanctuary
Remembering those we loved who have made their transitions is best shared together amongst loving, spiritually-inclined witnesses. It is an honorable testimony of another’s life and a healing expression of the love that causes us to miss their presence and celebrate their impact. Bring a photo or other relevant item to add to our altar. Experience reverent music, meditation and a sacred Sanctuary for sharing brief stories.
